The PRO ARTE Foundation has cooperated with the Hermitage Museum since 1999 in organization of exhibitions, conferences, and lectures about the art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Among the most notable projects one should mention video installations by Bill Viola and Shirin Neshat, exhibitions by Antony Gormley and David Hockney, lectures by Rem Koolhaas, Dominique Perrault, Ralf Appelbaum, Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Robert Storr, David Elliott, Peter Noever, and others. About 20 international conferences cover different issues of contemporary museum life. The State Hermitage ― is the chief PRO ARTE’s partner in the unique project ― St Petersburg Biennale of Museum Design.
The PRO ARTE Foundation works in close cooperation with the Hermitage Centers in Omsk, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok in organizing the annual Iskusnyi Glagol competition, established by the State Hermitage, the Vladimir Potanin Foundation and the Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts to support cultural journalism in the following regions of Russia: the Far East, Siberia, the Ural and the Volga regions.
