WHAT IS CONTEMPORARY ART is a reading intensive. It is aimed to discuss the theories, which have formed the definition of contemporary art. Alina Belishkina will discuss the texts, which address the perspective of a new or alternative understanding of contemporaneity, art, and its purpose that we share today, living tough times.
Alina Belishkina is a teacher, curator and artist. Studied on CuMMA (Curating, Managing and Mediating Arts) programme at Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland. Since 2011, she has been teaching at different art institutions of St Petersburg and Moscow. Curated BBX Crit Sessions 2018, Public programme of the Finnish Research Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2017; Under the ground of our times: (de)construction of collectivity in and through collection at the Pori Art Museum, Finland, 2017; 4th Moscow Curatorial Summer School (V-A-C), etc.
