“Сreating conditions”: art and the social turn is a series of readings to discuss post-studio socially oriented forms of cultural work from the APG and community art of the 1960s and 1970s to the educational turn in curating and contemporary unlearning practices. A separate meeting will be devoted to art institutions that work with the values of knowledge, decentralization, diversity and community.
Alexander Ivanov is a cultural worker, educator, and curator, who have initiated artistic, pedagogical, and community projects. He is the curator of the Perspektivy Art Studio at the Psycho-Neurological Residential Care Institution #3 in Peterhof, Russia. He collaborated with Russian and international institutions including the Manifesta 10 European Biennial of Contemporary Art, the Hermitage Youth Educational Centre, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, National Center of Contemporary Art, etc.
