Elena Yaichnikova will review proposals of new art projects by the School for Young Artists’ participants and discuss the way an artist work on project proposal: from developing an idea to its textual and visual presentation.
Elena Yaichnikova is Curator of Exhibitions at the V-A-C Foundation (Moscow, Russia). In 2013-2017, she worked as curator at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art; in 2011-2012, she curated the START project at the WINZAVOD Centre for Contemporary Art (Moscow, Russia); in 2010-2011, she lead the Practicum programme at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (Moscow, Russia); in 2009-2010, she was the editor of the BLACKSQUARE magazine’s art column. Elena Yaichnikova was a member of Expert Councils of the Innovation – Russian State Contemporary Art Award (2011, 2014), Kandinsky Prize (Russia, 2016), Moscow International Biennale for Young Art (Russia, 2014, 2016), Garage Museum of Contemporary Art’s grant programme for young artists (Russia, 2014, 2016). In 2014, Yaichnikova won the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art’s competition for young curators (Personal (Hi-)stories exhibition). In 2009, she won the OPENSPACE.RU’s competition for the best curatorial project of the 3rd Moscow Biennale for Contemporary Art’s Parallel programme (40 Lives of One Space exhibition).
