On November 12, 2022, the actors of the “Ne zrya” project took part in the audio description laboratory at the “Zertsalo (Mirror)” exhibition at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall in St. Petersburg.

The laboratory group consisted of visually impaired people and people without disabilities, they worked in pairs in order to study the paintings presented at the exhibition in more detail and come up with a system of images to tell a blind person about it.

The project is implemented by the PRO ARTE Foundation — with the grant provided by the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation, and with the support of the Committee for Culture and Committee for Social Policy of St. Petersburg.

Project partners: Bolshoi Drama Theater named after Georgiy Tovstonogov and Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of the Visually Impaired

*‘Ne zrya’ is a phrase in Russian having two very different meanings: ‘not seeing’ and ‘not in vain’.
