The main subject of the series of lectures is major tendencies in the curatorship in Russia and abroad. The formation of contemporary curatorial tradition, main figures in the curatorship, and the specific nature of the current state of the profession will be discussed. Features of curatorship in context of the Russian contemporary art will also be covered.
Stanislav Savitskiy (Saint-Petersburg) is an art-critic, a writer, and a curator. Savitsky holds PhD in Art History, and currently he is a professor of the Higher School of Economics and the director of the Curatorial Studies MA program at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of St Petersburg State University. He is an author of various books and the reviewer of the Masters Journal and the Delovoy Petersburg newspaper.
