The lecture course is devoted to the history of Russian contemporary art in the 1950s-2010s: from the first experiences of so-called dissident modernism during the Khrushchev Thaw to art activism at the beginning of the 21st century.
Sasha Obukhova is an art historian and curator of archive at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow. During 1990-2000s, she worked in the Institute of Contemporary Art in Moscow, the State Tretyakov Gallery, and the National Centre for Contemporary Art. She is a member of expert council of the Kandinsky Prize. In 2014, she won the Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award (the Best Text on Contemporary Art).
