St Petersburg-based artist Leonid Tskhe will speak about his art practice of the recent five years and his experience of teaching at the St Petersburg Academy of Arts, which transformed into artistic co-operation. Leonid Tskhe will discuss a phenomenon of performative painting implemented by North-7 art group, share his view on an artist-gallery relationship, and emphasise on the most significant art projects: how it all began and is being developed.
Leonid Tskhe graduated from the Graphics Department of the St Petersburg Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (Academy of Arts) in 2007. In 2010-2019, he taught at the Academy’s Graphics Department. Participant of the 6th Moscow International Biennial of Contemporary Art and the parallel programme of the European Biennale of Contemporary Art Manifesta 10 in St Petersburg. Personal and group projects were held at the M HKA Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (Belgium), Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the PERMM Museum of Contemporary Art (Perm), in the Name Gallery (St Petersburg) and the Ovcharenko Gallery (Moscow). Since 2013, a member of the North-7 art group.
