Reconstruction of the Symphony of Horns (or Simphonija gudkov) – an ambitious constructivist project by avant-guard composer, theorist an musical eccentric Arseny Avramov (1886-1944). The original piece involved navy ship sirens and whistles, bus and car horns, factory sirens, cannons, foghorns, artillery guns, machine guns, a specially designed "whistle main," made of tuned steam-driven sirens. In spite of the enormous scale, the piece was performed in the city of Baku in 1922, celebrating the fifth anniversary of the 1917 October Revolution, and in Moscow, a year later. The reconstruction created by a young composer from St. Petersburg Sergei Khismatov is an electro acoustical version of the Symphony.
