Riccardo Attanasio is an artist-in-residence of the NCCA Residency in Kronstadt in April, 2013.
“ I will begin by introducing myself and my practice, explaining my motivations and interests in contemporary art. I will be talking about different artists connecting them to Benoit Mandelbrot and his research about the comic fractals and theory of chaos. I will compare the cosmic fractals' theory to “Point and Line to Plane” by W. Kandinsky linking his theories to basic notions of space and the importance of awareness during a performance piece. I will also mention the work of Boccioni, Bill Viola in order to give insights on slow motion. I will then talk about the presence and importance of geometry in everyday movements. I will end the lecture with a "rap song" about geometry and freedom.”
The lecture at the PRO ARTE Foundation will be open to interaction with the audience.
